Falling and Getting Up, Black Panther Money Stuff, My Marvel Reason, NFL Notes, Old News

Hello everyone, I hope you all are doing great today.  My day has not been too bad, I woke up and thought my legs were doing better and I was able to stand up to transfer to the toilet without any problems, so that is good.  Time seemed to fly by for the early part of the day and it was noon before I finally caught up to it.  I ended up going to the gym and had a good workout but then I left the gym and started to have some problems.  When I went to transfer into my van, after I had gotten the chair in there, I fell twice, I fell all the way down the first time and got up and then I started to fall but I caught myself.  A few people drove by when I was having trouble but did not stop to ask if everything was alright, just as I got sat down in the van seat an older lady stopped and asked if I needed any help.  I told her I was fine but she came an shut my door for me, I need to get that fixed but it costs so much.  I thanked her and talked with her for a few minutes and then I went to get some gas, I forgot that I had a physical therapy session at 2:30 so I figured I would just stay in the van instead of going home and doing all that transferring, so I went and got something to eat real quick and went to my appointment.  It was with a different lady today and she tried me on some other stuff but those other things did not work out to well.  So, that was my day, hope yours was better.  Now, onto the good stuff.

It is Wednesday so that means it is Marvel Day!  So, the biggest news for Marvel at this time has to deal with Black Panther and that it is making all the money right now.  This movie has officially been out for 2 weeks now and has made over $700 million, which is more than some superhero movies make in their full run, which is like 8 weeks.  I think this movie, after its 8 week haul, will make around $1.2 billion, which would embarrass some other movies or studios.  So, if you have seen this movie then you know why it is so good, it checks the boxes for everything.  If you haven't seen this movie and you claim to be a comic nerd, what are you doing, go out and watch this as soon as possible.

Another Marvel thing, actually more Marvel vs. DC.  I had watched a video about the nerd fight about Marvel vs. DC.  I want to weigh in, give my few pennies.  Now there are countless articles or videos you can watch about these two comic powerhouses but it only matters what you think and here is what I think.  Marvel is better than DC, that simple for me really, now I will break it down some.  I am a little biased on this since I "grew up" reading Marvel, because the stores in the smaller town I lived in only sold that brand, would it have been different if DC was sold instead?  Guess we will never know.  Marvel characters are way more relateable than DC characters.  I mean, that was how Marvel was basically started when Stan Lee and Jack Kirby wanted to make a super team have real world problems and make them bicker back and forth like they were all family.  That is how we got Fantastic Four.  Or when Lee and Kirby wanted something to mirror the civil rights movement, since that was the era we were living in at the time, that is how X-Men were created.  Professor X was created to be more of a Martin Luther King Jr. type while his arch-nemesis, Magneto, was more of a Malcom X type.  Marvel was the first to bring a black character in Black Panther to get his own comic book run.  Spider man was very relatetable with problems that many older teens have.  It appealed to me more because of these things and when I first started reading them I had no idea or inkling but looking back I can say that was a big reason why.  I am not saying by any stretch that I do not like DC, they are just not as near and dear to my heart is all.  The only character they have that is partly relateable is Batman, I mean seeing your parents shot in front of you would make a lot of people do that or at least feel like they should or could.  That is also why their movies are not doing as well, but that is an article for another time.  I have always had a problem with Superman, the character does too much, only a very few select things can do any damage to him and it is something that most people of Earth have never seen or even know about.  Because of this, Batman is in my top 10 list of favorite superheros and Superman is near the bottom, especially when we talk about my feelings towards them.  So, as always, make up your own minds to who you like or do not like, it is just your opinion and this was mine.

The NFL will be starting its new year in just a few weeks and things are heating up out there.  The Chiefs have agreed to trade Marcus Peters to the Rams, the final detail have not come out on what the Rams will be giving up yet but early reports indicate that they will give up a 4th round pick this year and a 2nd round pick next year.  I really hope it is more than that, Peters is a star and we deserve a better deal than that.  News just broke recently that the New York Jets just released Muhammad Wilkerson who I think the Chiefs need to look at, I think he is a good player.  I hope the Chiefs are active this offseason, like they normally are not.

News came out today from the CEO of Dicks Sporting Goods that they were going to stop selling "assault" rifles.  First off, what is an assault rifle?  Can't you make any rifle and assault rifle?  Anyway, they stopped this practice about 8 years ago but I guess he thought he needed some good press and announced it 8 years later.  Oh well, people can be strange.
