Rainy Day, Another Forgotten War, New Black Panther Stuff

Hello everyone, I hope you are great.  I have had a pretty good day today, except with the weather, I just try not to think about it much.  It has been rainy and the high temp today was 62 at 4 am, it is now 34.  That is what the temp is supposed to be tomorrow.  I made it to the gym and had a good triceps workout today.  I also did some Uber rides today and plan on doing more in the morning.  I think I like this side job.  So, let me get to it.

So, Tuesday is history day!  I would like to talk about another American war that is forgotten all the time, the Spanish American War of 1898.  This is another war that was lost in time between the Civil War and WWI, which were supposedly more "important" than the war of 1898.  A lot of people consider that the United States did not become a superpower until after WWII but I contend that we became a superpower after the Spanish American war.  The war lasted 4 months as there was a cease fire signed but it did not officially end until December 10th that year with the signing of the Treaty of Paris.  Why were there so many treaties signed in Paris or France in general.  I believe that America was a superpower after this war because we beat a colonial power at sea and for a time Spain was a superpower on the oceans.  Even though Britain was the undisputed champ of naval warfare at this time.  Plus Britain had the empire where the sun never set.  But they are a story for another time.  Plus one great thing this war gave us was Teddy Roosevelt leading the Rough Riders into battle in Cuba.  Probably one of the best presidents that have ever lead this country.  The man was shot before a speech and still lived and delivered the hour long speech before seeing any medical professionals.  One great man!

So there was one thing that I missed in the Black Panther movie and it has to deal with the Everette Ross character.  First off, I loved this character and what he did in the movie and I like the actor playing him.  I was not thinking of this but Ross seems to be taking over the Coulson role as he was killed in Avengers and was the main reason for the heroes to come together.  Also, when Suri gives the background of the "broken white boy" that is brought to her she tells about what he did almost 20 years ago.  He was an Air Force pilot and this would be about the same time as Carol Danvers who is Captain Marvel, as she is an Air Force pilot before getting her powers.  So it was a pretty interesting connection and I hope they exploit that in the upcoming Captain Marvel movie.  Can't wait.

Well, that is all for me tonight.  I really hope you all have a wonderful day or night, take care!
