Cleaning Day, Medical Conspiracies, New Name, Not Enough, At It Again
Hey there everyone, hope your Thursday is going great! Today was just another one of those boring days, waiting on my gym to open up. I didn't go push 2 miles like I have been but did push around the neighborhood for a little bit. I'm getting tired of what I have been cooking and want to change it up but not sure what to change to yet. I'm sure I'll figure something out. One thing I did do was clean my oven out really good, that was fun, kinda. So, let me get to it!
Conspiracy Day! This list from Listverse has a lot of medical conspiracies in it and I won't be able to touch on all of them but will talk about two. This first one is a doozy, the title for this one is "Fluoridation is Suppressing Our Third Eye". First off, the belief that we have a third eye is very brittle in the knowledge department but some people are very adamant about it, I don't think we do have one. And second, we had millions of years to evolve a third eye and we only started putting fluoride in our water about 75 years ago or so. I always heard that the big thing about putting fluoride in our water has to do with the fact that fluoride is a major component to building a nuclear bomb, not anything metaphysical. Oh well, learn something new everyday. This one could have a nugget of truth to it, that pharmaceutical companies are hiding a cure for cancer. A quote from a man a long time ago, Desiderius Erasmus, said that the prevention is better than the cure, meaning you make more money treating something than you do from curing it. Obviously that is true because once you are cured from a disease then why would you continue to to pay for anything. I think there are more cures out there than just the one for cancer though, even though cancer is really hard to pin down for a cure. I do think there will be a cure one day, probably in my lifetime, but that is only going to make it mutate into something far scarier like most viruses and bacteria do. Here is that top 10 list; https://listverse.com/2014/11/18/10-mind-boggling-medical-conspiracy-theories/
It does have a certain ring to it, kinda. The naming rights for the home of the New Orleans Saints is coming up next year and one company has already placed a bid for it. That company is not one you would normally think of when imagining the name of an American football stadium. This company is one of the few that have enjoyed higher profits since this COVID-19 business, the company is an adult website called Stripchat. Now I have never heard of this company, but then again I stay away from places that might put a virus on my computer. The company wants to call the stadium "Stripchat Superdome", it is a good name but I don't think this one will fly. The owner of the Saints, Gayle Benson is a very religious Catholic woman and I don't think this would vibe with her beliefs, not to mention that of some of her players like Drew Brees who is also religious. So I wonder who will pick up the naming rights, here is an article on it; https://sports.yahoo.com/adult-website-announces-15-m-bid-for-naming-rights-to-saints-superdome-200104877.html
Here is a follow-up on a story I have written about a few times in the past, the college admission scandal. The charge was a serious one and I don't think the people got enough of a term in jail or prison or whatever else to reflect that. Lori Loughlin and her husband pleaded guilty, Lori is getting 2 months in prison, a $150,000 fine and 100 hours of community service. I do not think that is enough for what she did, she was part of a huge problem with college admissions across this country and I think she should have been held to more than what she got. The only reason why her daughters wanted to go to college at USC was so they could go to parties, I believe they actually said this at one point in an interview. The girls probably didn't even go to classes because they are too privileged, thinking they are better than everyone else and never got the fear of God put into them at a young age. The girls should have gotten punished in some way, not sure if prison time for them would have been right but at least a fine or community service or something. Not going to talk much about this, just tired of this sort of thing. Another liberal city and county are trying it again where the take from the rich to help the poor, that hasn't worked at all in every other city in America so why does Portland think they are different. They approved a tax on the wealthiest citizens and businesses to try to help the homeless population. I guess it's the thought that counts here but I don't believe it will help anyone. Well, that's it for me tonight. I really do hope that all of you have a great night or day, take care and stay safe!
