Holiday That Will Not Be Named, Winning Side, Gets What He Deserves, Long Time, Mask Wearer

Hey there everyone, I hope your week is ending right!  Happy Lupercalia, it's the Roman holiday that came before this one that is not to be mentioned that happens on this day.  Thankfully that one is not celebrated anymore because it had some pretty terrible and crazy things that would happen.  The worst thing that would happen was the killing of puppies and one thing about that celebration was that no one really knew where that came from, it was just always done so people keep up the tradition like they do with most holidays.  And it was always puppies and not full grown dogs for some reason along with two goats.  So I guess the holiday that will not be named is better than what used to be by any stretch.  It has been a good day, except for the blistering cold outside, the high today was only like 26.  Not even above freezing but tomorrow looks to be a lot better and the same goes for Sunday, I'm supposed to grill out on that day.  Crazy Missouri weather, just wait a few and it'll change.  I did a real hard workout today, focusing mostly on biceps.  I've really been growing the size of my arms lately and that's what I'm working towards.  Still job hunting and I have now applied to 10 jobs this week, just haven't found anything at all.  Not sure why it's been so tough for me in this economy right now.  Oh well, guess I just keep looking.  So let me get into it!

Alternate History Day!  This is an alternate history I was thinking of so I won't have anything to add, so I'll just talk about it.  It is What if America Had Won the War in Vietnam.  As we all know America was basically shamed out of the war in Vietnam by using the media to end our involvement in the Asian country.  Towards the end of American involvement the USA was winning in most all aspects of the war but it was untenable, so we left without finishing.  One reason why I believe that America had been on the winning side of WWII is because shortly after entering that war the planners of the war had everything planned out on what to do once the war was over based on the belief that America would be on the winning side.  In the Vietnam War we did not have that level of confidence and that is a big reason why we did not win, I believe in my humble opinion.  So anyway, for this scenario to work there are a lot of things that need to happen.  First would be a much better, stronger leader for South Vietnam.  The man who was the president there was a Roman Catholic in a majority Buddhist nation, not a great pick.  So a stronger leader and more enhanced training for the South Vietnamese troops would have helped.  If American troops and South Vietnamese troops were to push the communist North Vietnamese to the brink of destruction, what would happen to the country?  First obviously the country would not be communist and would probably have a good relationship with America and the west in general.  I think that would be good since I am not a fan of communism in any country as it persecutes it's people and can ruin a country.  Some things may happen still though, the short war with China could still happen but for different reasons.  This is something I might try to get a story out of this if I really try, these are just some thoughts I've had in my head lately.

This is a story that put a little smile onto my face.  Michael Avenatti, the sleazy lawyer of that porn star who was against the president, has been found guilty of trying to extort Nike.  Don't you just love it when people get what they deserve, hope he has fun in prison.  Sure he will make some prisoners really happy.  It's also funny because at one time he was thought to be the person who was going to overthrow President Trump in the 2020 election.  He was the golden boy for the democratic party and the media for awhile, oh how they fall when they think they can't.  The article I'm looking at says that he could face up to 42 years in prison, now he is 48 so this would be basically a death sentence for him but I don't see him lasting all that long.  Like other big name people in prison, he will wind up suicided by someone in there.  But for someone who thinks he is above the law this is oh so nice to see happen.  Couldn't of happened to a better guy.  Here is the article I pulled this up on; https://www.yahoo.com/sports/michael-avenatti-found-guilty-of-trying-to-extort-nike-204319410.html

This is a case I have never heard anything about, but not surprising as I don't know every case in the country but this happened fairly close by.  Chester Weger, also known as the Starved Rock Killer, is being released from prison after about 60 years.  The man is now 80 years old and was granted parole recently.  I don't think he is a big threat to the community but you never know.  Also I don't really know the case so I cannot say for sure if he was really guilty or not of that murder back in 1960 or not.  Hopefully everything goes well.  Here is an article on this; https://www.yahoo.com/news/starved-rock-killer-chester-weger-201944302.html

Some things can be really crazy in this wonderful world.  A woman in Dearborn, Michigan entered a bank while wearing a facemask and the police were called in on her.  I think I would put blame on the woman because the bank has rules and regulations against anyone coming into the bank wearing anything that covers their face for security reasons.  Not saying that she should have known the rules before entering the bank but she could have removed it for just a few seconds.  She says that she has a compromised immune system and wears the mask for her protection.  Well I have a compromised immune system and I never wear a mask but every person has their own preference.  Things didn't need to get to that point, the police presence could have been avoided.  Oh well, here is an article on this; https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/woman-wore-face-mask-bank-223002831.html

Here is a pretty good story and a guy just doing his civic duty to help.  Police were chasing a shoplifting suspect in Georgia when a good samaritan helped out by pushing his cart in front of the man running from the cops so he fell down and was caught.  The thing I'm worried about was anything that was in his cart broke or anything like milk or something that was in a glass jar like pasta sauce.  And if anything was damaged then the police should replace it.  Anyway, here is the article; https://www.yahoo.com/news/georgia-police-thank-shopper-used-200100314.html

Well, that's all for me tonight.  I really do hope that you all have a great weekend, take care!
